At I/O 2026, Google showcased how it’s pushing AI to become more useful in everyday life, with updates spanning wearable tech, search, and powerful new AI models designed to handle complex tasks more seamlessly.
Gemini Omni [Model]
Gemini Omni is a new multimodal model that can generate media from almost any input. It turns text, images, and video clips into high-quality video outputs, making content creation feel more like a natural conversation. Gemini Omni Flash will first arrive in the Gemini app, Flow, and YouTube, with video generation support.
Gemini 3.5 Flash [Model]
Google’s most capable agentic and coding model to date, Gemini 3.5 Flash delivers high-level performance at remarkable speed. It’s designed to complete complex tasks that would normally take days or weeks, while also being significantly more cost-efficient than other frontier models.
New AI Search Box [Search]
Google Search is getting its biggest upgrade in over 25 years. The redesigned search box is now AI-powered and more flexible, letting users drop in text, images, files, videos, or even Chrome tabs to ask questions in a more intuitive way.
Intelligent Eyewear [AI]
Google is also entering the next wave of wearable AI with intelligent eyewear, starting with audio-focused smart glasses this fall. Powered by Android XR, these glasses bring Gemini assistance directly to the user through private in-ear responses, enabling hands-free use for calls, music, photos, and app access.
Daily Brief [Gemini app]
Daily Brief is a new AI agent inside the Gemini app that summarizes your digital day into a clear morning overview. It highlights priorities, filters out clutter, and suggests actionable next steps to help users start the day more efficiently.
Gemini Spark [Gemini app]
Gemini Spark acts as a proactive personal AI agent that can operate in the background under your direction. It can take initiative on tasks like tracking subscriptions or analyzing financial activity, helping manage everyday digital life more efficiently.
Neural Expressive [Gemini app]
The Gemini app is also getting a visual and interaction upgrade through Neural Expressive. This brings smoother animations, richer colors, updated typography, and haptic feedback for a more dynamic and responsive experience.
Google Antigravity 2.0 [AI]
Google introduced Antigravity 2.0, a standalone desktop platform built for orchestrating multiple AI agents at once. It allows users to run parallel tasks, such as coding a website while another agent generates supporting creative assets.
These updates are set to roll out soon, bringing a more integrated and capable AI ecosystem across Google’s products.
