Samsung Electronics has unveiled the new Samsung 990 SSD, offering a balanced combination of speed, efficiency, and reliability for gamers, creators, and everyday PC users. The SSD will be available in 1TB and 2TB capacities.
Built on the PCIe 4.0 interface and Samsung's latest NAND technology, the Samsung 990 SSD is designed to handle demanding workloads, immersive gaming, high-resolution content creation, and DIY PC builds.

The 2TB model delivers sequential read speeds of up to 7,250 MB/s, while the 1TB variant reaches up to 7,150 MB/s. Both capacities support sequential write speeds of up to 6,450 MB/s, helping reduce loading times and accelerate large file transfers.
For random performance, the 2TB model offers up to 850K read and 1,200K write IOPS. Meanwhile, the 1TB version delivers up to 700K read IOPS and 1,100K write IOPS, providing faster application launches, smoother gameplay, and improved responsiveness during intensive workloads.
Samsung has also improved the drive's power efficiency by up to 38% compared to the previous 990 PRO SSD, allowing users to achieve high performance while consuming less power.
The SSD is supported by Samsung Magician Software, which provides drive health monitoring, firmware updates, data migration tools, and performance optimization features to help maintain peak performance and protect user data.

The Samsung 990 SSD will soon be available in the Philippines with the following suggested retail prices:
- 1TB: Php 19,075
- 2TB: Php 37,678
It will be available through Samsung Storage's official stores on Shopee and Lazada, as well as authorized retailers nationwide including PC Express, Infoworx, Octagon, The Net, JW Summit, PC Hub, Thinking Tools, Dynamic PC, DataBlitz, and Memo Express.
