ROG Launches 2026 Strix Gaming Laptop Lineup with New G16, G18, and Strix SCAR 18

ROG has unveiled its 2026 Strix gaming laptop lineup, consisting of the new ROG Strix G16, ROG Strix G18, and flagship ROG Strix SCAR 18. The latest generation brings upgrades across the board, including an improved Nebula Display, enhanced ROG Intelligent Cooling, faster connectivity, and next-generation hardware.

2026 ROG Strix G16 and G18

The 2026 ROG Strix G series features an upgraded ROG Nebula Display with a 2.5K resolution and an ultra-fast 300Hz refresh rate, delivering smoother gameplay, improved motion clarity, and responsive visuals for competitive gaming.

Powering the new laptops are Intel Core Ultra 9 processors up to the 290HX and NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics up to the RTX 5080, providing ample performance for demanding games and creative workloads.

To keep temperatures under control, ROG has equipped the new Strix G series with its latest Intelligent Cooling solution. It combines an end-to-end vapor chamber, ROG Tri-Fan Technology, and Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal, reducing internal temperatures by up to 15°C and allowing the laptops to maintain peak performance during extended gaming sessions.

2026 ROG Strix SCAR 18

The 2026 ROG Strix SCAR 18 combines flagship-grade hardware with one of the most impressive displays in ROG's gaming lineup. It features an 18-inch 4K Mini LED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate and more than 2,000 local dimming zones. The display also supports ROG Nebula ELMB technology, delivering up to 16 times greater motion clarity and up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness.

For creators and gamers alike, the panel offers 100% DCI-P3 color coverage and Anti-Glare Low Reflection (AGLR) technology, which reduces reflections and enhances contrast by up to 4.5 times.

2026 ROG Strix SCAR 18

Under the hood, the Strix SCAR 18 can be configured with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU and an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX processor. In Manual Mode, the laptop can reach a total system power of up to 320W.

Cooling has also been significantly upgraded. The new SCAR 18 features a 20% thicker vapor chamber measuring 3.5mm, up from 2.5mm on the previous generation. Upgraded Liquid Crystal Polymer fans deliver up to 91% more airflow, while redesigned side and bottom intake vents paired with rear hinge exhausts help keep the keyboard area cooler during gaming sessions. ROG says the new thermal design lowers internal temperatures by up to 15°C, while a new graphite and copper heatsink reduces SSD temperatures by as much as 12°C.

Tool-less Upgrading in ROG Style

The 2026 Strix lineup introduces a new tool-less design that makes upgrading and maintenance easier than ever. Users can quickly access the RAM, SSDs, and cooling fans, while the new Q-Latch system enables SSD installation and removal without the need for screws.

Staying true to ROG's signature aesthetics, the laptops feature a customizable full-surround Aura RGB light bar. Borrowing a feature previously seen on the Zephyrus series, the new Strix lineup also incorporates the AniMe Vision display on the laptop lid, allowing users to create and showcase custom animations and personalized designs.
