vivo has officially introduced OriginOS 7, its latest smartphone operating system, bringing smoother performance, smarter AI features, improved multitasking, and more customization.

Unveiled in Shanghai on September 21, OriginOS 7 features the new Origin Smooth Engine, which improves graphics processing, memory management, and system scheduling. vivo says the update reduces app cold start times by 10% and improves app page switching by 11% based on its internal testing.
For multitasking, Origin Workbench lets users manage up to five active apps in one task space, making it easier to switch between documents, notes, messages, and other activities.
OriginOS 7 also introduces Origin Animation, which uses physics-inspired animations to make swiping, scrolling, and transitions feel more fluid.
Smarter connectivity and AI
OriginOS 7 expands connectivity with other devices. Supported Apple Watch models can sync selected health and workout data, while AirPods can display battery information through Origin Island and support Spatial Audio, depending on device and region.
Through vivo Office Kit, supported vivo phones can connect with iPad, Mac, and Windows PCs for task handoffs, note synchronization, and file transfers. Selected iCloud photos and files can also be accessed through vivo File Manager.
Meanwhile, Jovi serves as vivo’s personal AI agent, helping retrieve files from connected computers, summarize information, and handle recurring tasks. Snap Note can also turn photos of whiteboards, handwritten notes, and presentation slides into editable documents.
More ways to personalize
OriginOS 7 adds new customization options, including Wiggle Theme, Glint Theme, and StickIt, which let users create more interactive and personalized lock screens and home screens. Pet Pals adds animated companion themes that respond to movement, charging, music, and the time of day.
Availability
OriginOS 7 will be available on the vivo X500 Series, as well as new X Fold and V Series devices. Availability and features may vary by device and market.
